NASRO Basic School Resource Officer Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The NASRO Basic School Resource Officer Course is a forty-hour (40) block of instruction
designed for law enforcement officers and school safety professionals working in an educational
environment and with school administrators. The course provides tools for officers to build
positive relationships with both students and staff.
The course is also beneficial for educational professionals dedicated to providing a safe learning
environment and provides a more in-depth understanding of the role and functions of an SRO.

Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) – Basic

RIT

This course is designed to provide firefighters with the knowledge and skill objectives to safely perform rescue techniques to remove trapped or lost firefighters during deteriorating suppression activities. This course is for firefighters who are members of a RIT, and tasked with extrication responsibilities during structure fires. Included in this course: RIT Team roles and responsibilities, evaluation of case studies, function during suppression activities, lifting and moving techniques, extrication support needs, team building skills, and size-up techniques and structure layout.

PER-211 Medical Management of CBRNE Events

TEEX

This course teaches participants to perform patient triage, decontamination, treatment, and transportation in the event of exposure to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) hazards. The course consists of facilitated discussions, small group exercises, hands-on activities, and task-oriented practical applications. Course participants will use both state-of-the-art adult and pediatric human patient simulators to promote critical thinking skills while utilizing the RAPID-Care concept. Course is instructed by TEEX.

Prerequisites: Age 18 and up, Pump Operations I
Description: This course is designed to instruct the student in advanced techniques of operating
fire pumps. Topics covered include friction loss, relay pumping, master streams, and elevated
master streams.
