This course is about 1 hour in length

This instruction is designed to familiarize County and Municipal Coordinators and Staffs with the procedures involved in Damage Assessment within their Jurisdictions. The instruction also describes the reporting mechanisms used to provide Emergency Management personnel at Municipal, County and Commonwealth Levels with situational awareness of the scope and severity of Damages incurred by a Natural or Man-Made Disaster.

The TEEX /NERRTC Wide Area Search course is an excellent training opportunity for nearly any jurisdiction or agency that may face such an emergency. The discipline applies to a vast number of critical situations including natural disasters or terrorist incidents. Participants are instructed in practical search methods and skills so they can perform systematic searches over a large affected area. The training includes challenging exercises that mirror real life scenarios.

This course is designed to provide responders concepts of risk management, best practices, power control, into to ASME A17.4 “Guide for Emergency Personnel”, Fire Service Phase I & II controls and use, opening hoist way and car doors, to include restrictors if present. Inspection run, top-exit drill, and poling techniques will be shown if the site is safe and conducive to this training.
